Being skeptical is perfectly acceptable! I get it. The concepts of “life force energy,” “healing through hands,” and “biofield therapy” can be a little difficult to understand, especially if you’re newly interested in it. I was skeptical at first too, but found myself surprised at the positive experience and outcome after trying it. Good news! As long as you’re open to receiving the energy, whether you are skeptical or not, Reiki will still work!
People report various sensations with Reiki that can include feeling cold, warm, tingling sensations, a heaviness, seeing colors, having visions, feeling sleepy, relaxed, or even energized and some people don’t feel anything. Some even fall asleep. Fortunately Reiki works whether you feel any of these sensations or not. The more attune you are with your body, the more sensations you may feel.
Yes. Emotionally ill or emotionally fragile individuals would not benefit from Guided Imagery. Guided Imagery is not a treatment option for anyone with the following conditions:
- Have dementia or delirium
- Not able to think abstractly
- Unable to communicate
- Not able to distinguish reality from fantasy
- Having hallucinations or delusions
- Actively psychotic
Be in a comfortable location, free of distractions. We recommend removing any jewelry that can cause an energetic disruption such as smart watches or Fitbit type devices. We also advise silencing your notifications and calls from your cell phone. Feel free to set up an area with blankets, pillows and anything else you prefer. Laying down allows you to go into a deeper relaxation state. We suggest wearing loose fitting clothing and warm socks (cold feet are common during Reiki). We also recommend drinking plenty of water before and after your Reiki session.
I offer 3 options lasting 30, 45 or 60 minutes. They all include extra time to allow for questions and treatment discussion.

Since Reiki is a form of energy healing and energy is not limited by distance, it is possible to receive Reiki from a distance as well as in person. Without going into a lengthy explanation about Quantum Physics, I can say energy doesn’t follow the same rules and parameters that physical matter does. Energy is more fluid and operates on a quantum level. Distance is a physical limitation only. Energy isn’t limited by time or space. This makes Reiki from a distance possible. Energy healing can be done remotely with the practitioner and client in separate physical locations while still receiving the same benefits as an in person session. Most people feel very relaxed and uplifted after a treatment. You may even feel more energetic. In some instances though, a person may experience a headache, stomachache, feeling nauseous or weakness. This is because the body is detoxing and cleansing as part of the healing process. If this happens, it’s only temporary and best to drink more water and get more rest if possible. Everyone’s experience is unique to them and our body can respond in different ways.
